Your employees want mobile / online scheduling. Please...enough of the excel spreadsheets!
A reasonably quick internet search shows several things that Excel is good for:
- Teacher’s grade books
- Complex functions
- Mail merge
- Budgets
- Graphs
- Sequential rank of information
Excel is not, we repeat NOT, good for building employee schedules!
A recent study performed by Software Advice, a company that researches employee scheduling technology, concluded that of the over 400 employees in varying industries that were surveyed:
- Over half of hourly workers (55 percent) statedthat they would use a mobile scheduling app if it were offered by their employer.
- Workers in the service industry (restaurant/bar) were by far the most likely to use mobile scheduling apps, with 67 percent noting they would take advantage of such technology.
- The ability to request time off from their mobile device was the most commonly sought functionality by employees in a scheduling app.
SubItUp offers the ability to accomplish these and then some. Check out our industry specific pages to see how SubItUp can be a good fit for you and your company.
Another interesting bit of information that was deduced from this study is that a mobile scheduling app could prevent employee absenteeism.
